Nashville has so much to offer. You can see live music all over town. There’s a vibrant art scene including art museums, galleries and an abundance of murals around town.
Stay
21C Nashville - Our favorite group of hotels. It’s a hotel and 24 hour contemporary art museum. They’re dog friendly. Feathered Empty Nest Pick: Even if you don’t stay here you should visit the bar and visit the art gallery. Here’s a virtual tour of the hotel and galleries.
The Bobby Hotel - Historic hotel with an art exhibit in the lobby, Lonely Hearts Bar, Tavern restaurant, and rooftop bar Feathered Empty Nest Pick: In the Winter you can reserve an igloo at the rooftop bar
The Hermitage - This Beaux arts style, luxurious hotel and wedding venue was built in 1910. Amenities include Molton Brown bath products, dog friendly rooms and cookies and lemonade in the lobby daily. The Oak Bar was formally a private gentlemen’s club in the early 1900’s.
The 404 - Located in The Gulch neighborhood, this small King suite hotel has a modern relaxed vibe with local photography. Check out the 404 Kitchen for brunch.
Airbnb - there are some great, affordable Airbnbs in Nashville but you will need to pay attention to noise levels. Bars in Nashville have loud, late night music 7 days a week and can be heard for blocks.
Eat
Gray and Dudley - We suggest you start with the Duck Fried Rice. Monday is Prime Rib Night. The bar is soulfully decorated with art and has a smaller menu including duck fried rice and wonderful burgers.
The Southern Steak and Oyster - Open all day, happy hour from 3-6pm M-F, oyster bar, wood fire grill, know for it’s Southern experience with a twist
City Winery - a wine lovers paradise with a great cheese plate and an excellent happy hour from 5-7pm M-F, brunch, in concert dining (see After Dark below)
Acme Feed and Seed - This historic building, located on lower Broadway, a 1st floor restaurant and honky tonk with counter ordering, 2nd floor bar, and rooftop bar with amazing views. Feathered Empty Nest Pick: Weekly happy hour starts on Sunday from 4-7pm
Adele’s - James Beard award winning chef, Jonathan Waxman’s, beautiful restaurant with seasonal, local comfort food in The Gulch
Hattie B’s Hot Chicken - A Nashville must visit spot, please note: you choose your heat level carefully the Hot! is hotter than these Texans prefer so err on the milder side.
House of Cards - Feathered Empty Nest Pick: This hidden gem is located below the Johnny Cash Museum, through a secret tunnel, this unique, sexy space, decorated with valuable art and antiques, has a no photography policy for a private experience and a dress code insures this place keeps it’s classy atmosphere. This is a great spot for a special occasion or just a fancy brunch.
Wild Eggs - super casual breakfast and brunch location, bar seating is a good choice on busy mornings

Frist Art Museum - This art collection is in an historic post office building.
Rymer Galley Contemporary space located near the historic shopping area known as The Arcade
Country Music Hall of Fame - A fun but expensive ($41) trip through country music history. If you'r not a huge country music fan we suggest you get a ticket for Hatch Show Print instead.
Hatch Show Print - Feathered Empty Nest Pick: since 1879 have been printing for the circus, vaudeville acts, carnivals and countless world renown musicians from Grand Ole Opry stars, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Pearl Jam, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Mumford & Sons. The most famous woodcut printing in the United States.
Breweries
Jackalope Brewery - Our favorite Nashville brews. You can visit their tap rooms or take tours Friday evening and Saturdays.
Proper Sake - a different type of brewery in Pie Town
Yazoo Brewing Company - started in 2003 in The Gulch
Rock Bottom Brewery and Restaurant - located right in the heart off Broadway with beautiful rooftop views and a great selection of beers.
After Dark
Printers Alley - on National Register Historic District, a great place for nightlife Blues and Jazz including BB King’s blues club and Skull’s Rainbow Room - since 1948 and has live Jazz and Feathered Empty Nest Pick: a Burlesque show nightly
Party on Broadway - The country music strip of Nashville. Bar and restaurants line the street with no cover bands playing every night of the week and during the day on the weekends
City Winery shows - The schedule of shows here include Girls of Nashville, Blues, Alternative Rock, singer song writers, burlesque and much more. There isn’t a bad seat in the house. Shows sell out quickly.

Shop, grab lunch, a drink or coffee and see the murals. We suggest you go on a sunny day and avoid weekends if you can due to large crowds.

Craft South - a modern crafters paradise with fabric and yarn
Draper James - Reese Witherspoon’s boutique filled with casual, Southern, preppy clothing and accessories. They offer you sweet tea when you walk in the door - Well bless their hearts.
Bartoco - A laid back casual restaurant with a light and bright coastal feel and margaritas.
Edley’s Bar-B-Que - casual barbecue on a great shopping street, happy hour 3-6pm M-F, outdoor seating, gluten free options
Five Daughters Bakery - did someone say doughnuts?
Frothy Monkey - coffee, beer, wine and brunch every day, happy hour, gluten free and vegan options
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream - A local favorite, Parking is free for the first 2.5 hours at the 12 South Flats lot.

Vino Volo -Enjoy their sunny seating and wine tasting flights or grab a really fancy roady (glass of wine for the road) to take to your gate. A bit expensive but worth it.
Gibson Cafe- see a local singer songwriter and grab a burger while you’re at it. Located near the Southwest gates. Musicians work for tips only so remember show your appreciation.
