18 Instagram accounts that show great gray hair transitions

When I decided to go gray I wanted to know how long it would take and what I could expect it to look like. I scoured Instagram to find people who had documented their gray hair growth.

I found these wonderful, beautiful woman on Instagram who showed me the way and shared my journey to gray hair.

  1. GratefulandGray

    Karen started there journey in 10/10/18. She documented her gray growth with posts and timeline videos. She has a great Southern accent and she’s always cheerful and upbeat while sharing her story and products that work for her.

  2. StagesofGrey

    Debbie is an interior designer in Scotland. She has great photos of her grey journey since 10/10/18 Yes, the same date as Karen at GratefulandGray and they look so much alike they could be sisters! Check out her very well done makeup tutorial in her stories. 

  3. Naturally_graysful

    Nina has been shining with silver hair since 2011. Her makeup is always stunning and she has a movie star smile. Viewing her Instagram account a joy. She has one of the largest collection of gray transition photos and videos I have found.

    I’ve followed Cathryn thought her transition and she has done a great job documenting her grey since August of 2018. She’s a talented artist. She was inspired to start her silver journey by her hubby’s great silver hair.

    Starting November of 2016 Silver Transition documented how to keep your long hair during the gray  transition. Her photos do a great job of documenting over two years of change.

  6. PlatinumParker

    Parker is fairly new to this process having started in August of 2019. She was Mrs. Universal 2018. She’s doing a great job documenting her process with the help of letter boards.

    Toni makes short gray hair look sexy and glamorous. She has been growing her silver strands and documenting it and super cute haircuts since July 2018.

    Julie has been transitioning from very dark brown to gray since January 2018. Her photos were taken often and were consistently taken from the same angle. This gives you a great look at how her hair grayed.

    Donna Marie is a mom of boys. She has great salt and pepper hair and show how super dark hair and transition beautifully. She’s been growing and documenting since February 2019.

    Julie has been growing out her natural gray since August of 2019. She’s keeping her long hair “with a mind of it’s own” during this transition.

    Corinne’s last dye was in April 2019. This mom of 5, self described clean freak and an artist. She looks so good with silver strands her bobbed hair cut.

    Vanessa is an author who has been documenting her transition from black to silver since October 2019. She has an elegant style and is even more stylish in grey hair.

    Sunitha has been growing and documenting her silver hair since May 2019. Her bright photos are lovely.

    Jenneà had suffered from alopecia in the past and really rocked a bald head and a buzz cut. She began her gray journey in April 2019. The beautiful curls on this woman make me jealous.

    Jocelyn is a beautiful tattooed nurse and fitness coach has been growing out her gray since January 2019 while keeping her hair long. She shows you can be gray and still be a bad ass.

    Michele started growing out her gray in 2017 and started documenting it 22 month in. She shares early photos, flash backs and current long gray hair. Her hair is my goal hair.

    Adeline has been a gray hair ambassador in since December 2018. She’s over 60 but you would'n’t know it by looking at her. She has the most beautiful long gray hair.
